    I would second that - so much quicker and easier to re-install from a recovery image than to go through the installation process all over... good on you for getting onto 8.1... now for Update 1... it's gonna be a 700MB+ monster btw ...LOL.

    Nothing wrong with 700+ MB updates, especially when they are packed with tons of new features and are free!

    You can do a clean install of 8.1 with the 15 7 to 8 upgrade key also. I did.

    As for 8.1.1 - it doesn't seem to have anything particularly interesting above 8.1 (at least for me).
