Hi, I've recently been trying to downgrade my windows 8 to windows 7. Now I'm stuck at a point in the bios. I have thos option in my bios saying "OS configuration" which allows me 2 options; Windows 8 or; Windows 7/other OS. When ever I turn it on "Windows 7/other OS" I lose the ability to change the secure boot opion (it just dissapears) when I leave it on "Windows 8" I have no option to enable/see "cms".

I tried legacy boots - didn't work.

The desktop I'm talking about is a; Medion AKOYA P 5255 D md 8825
It's running Aptio Setup Utility and American Megatrends Version 2.15.1227
Bios date 12/13/2012 - Version: M7797W08.20F

Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks for your reply!

I know it doesn't boot with secure boot, but it wont boot when I switch it off either. The thing is that I cannot use CMS and secure boot at the same time. There is an option in my bios called "os configuration" and when I switch between those 2 options I either lose the ability to disable secureboot, or enable CMS.

Your CSM options are

"os configuration"

Windows 8 or; Windows 7/other OS.

Oke, so I already tried when I put the "OS configuration" on Windows7/other OS. Did the booting order, switched off secure boot and still it wont boot the Windows 7 installer. It just tells me "Reboot and Select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device etc. I've put it on legacy boot btw.

When I do that I recieve this message; Reboot and Select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device etc. I have burned 2 different copies of Windows 7 and tried to use a USB stick, both don't work. When I use the CD that is given to me which came with the desktop, it works.

You say that the OS configuration is my CSM but when I change it the option to disable secure boot dissapears, or does it turn off automaticly?
