White screen after setup

I installed 64bit consumer preview and then when it was preparing, I got a blank white screen with a cursor. I have to restart my computer and restore back to w7. Anyone else get this problem? Or did I just not wait long enough

Ok, did you use the .exe file from microsoft or a disc image?

ok, the problem may be:

1. Corrupted download
2. Bad disc, or an error during burining the disc.
3. bad BIOS version

A. for 1. Try to use the .exe installer, it checks out for any corrupted data (also answers for 2.)

A for 3. Try to update your BIOS (be careful)

I tried everything. Still gave me a white screen at the end of the install. And I don't have the slightest clue how to update bios so od rather not risk it. Could it be that im using dual monitors? No oe else have this problem?

Try a clean install from DVD.

I don't want to clean install. I want to upgrade. I don't understand why this is doing this. The install process finishes, then it prepares all my files and settings and then bam it prepares to boot and I get a white screen with the cursor.

i have exactly the same problem !
i searched all over the net .. there're no answer for this problem yet !
my windows 7 is up to date, i already installed via windows explorer (run the exe files inside the ISO/DVD),
or put it to boot up and install after the bios check !
install it with first option (keep everything include apps) > white screen
install but only keep personal files > white screen

If you force shut down during this long stupid white / blank screen .. windows 8 will restore your old windows and delete all the windows 8 failed installation.

I hope some1 may find a way to fix this soon ! i can't wait to test my new laptop with the multi-touch/stylus screen.

in the mean time
will keep looking .. :)
