A month ago, I bought an XPS 7800 with windows 8 and a 2 TB drive. On the same day I received it, the drive was partitioned into ca 200 GB (for Win 8) and ca 1700 GB (for data) partitions. Computer ran smoothly.
A few times, the computer prompted Create Factory Reinstall Disk Now started (I am not sure the language is correct or not. My memory is fuzzy now). After running for a while, it failed due to "Corrupted environment". This happened repeatedly. I felt that somehow I messed up recovery partitions in the factory installed 2TB-hard disk.
Since the computer did not come with Windows 8 re-installation disk but come with Windows 8 recovery media for Windows 8 products 64-bit DVD disk.
I am concerned that how I can restore Windows 8 if windows 8 crashes in future. Please advise me.
BTW, is there anyway to restore factory settings of recovery partitions?
