I had been using windows 8 and everything was fine till accidentally it downloaded windows 8.1 which i did not like ... so when it was saying to me that do you want to install windows 8.1 after downloading it , i said NO . But after that , all i have is a black screen. No matter if i swich it off through the switch butto in the laptop , it stills appears as black screen. Seems like the windows 8 has been uninstalled due to the download of windows 8.1 .

Any advice on what to do ? I have also my folders which i think might have been delated after this

Any help is appreciated

Still the same thing .... i press them at the same time and nothing configures .... nevertheless , after i took off my battery from the laptop, waiting for 5 minutes and reput it in its place , now the VAIO configuration appears for 5 seconds for the screen to again go into dark mode .

Any other option ?

Fown this from another forum....

''well I found out something that a lot of people don't know apparently. I called Gateway, and he kept telling me what to do, getting mad thinking I was doing it wrong. All I had to do was tap delete to get their menu up, but whenever I did I got 'no signal' on my screen. After a huge runaround 'yes, my screen is plugged in! when I don't tap it at least something shows up, etc etc...' he gave up and told me to send it in.What I figured out: you can't get into any menus with a graphics card connected. I don't know why I didn't think of it, in hindsight it should have been obvious, at least for someone in the many help forums I went to.
If you have a similar problem make sure you are using on board graphics (which involves completely disconnecting any other cards manually). Only then can bios come up.''
