You will need reinstall the ACER with the old OS, than upgrade the Toshiba.

Can I transfer the software to another computer or user? You may transfer the software to another computer that belongs to you. You may also transfer the software (together with the license) to a computer owned by someone else if a) you are the first licensed user of the software and b) the new user agrees to the terms of this agreement. To make that transfer, you must transfer the original media, the certificate of authenticity, the product key and the proof of purchase directly to that other person, without retaining any copies of the software. You may use the backup copy we allow you to make or the media that the software came on to transfer the software. Anytime you transfer the software to a new

When an OS installs, it reads the motherboard, and that mobo, CPU and associated hardware become a part of the OS and it's licensing information. It becomes "Locked" to that PC, as it were.

Now if you make a backup copy of the PC's hard drive and try to restore it to a computer with a totally different mobo and CPU, it will PUKE! That's old school.

Now, in conflict with that age old demon, I recently took a hard drive out of one computer and put it in another computer of different manufacturer and age, but with the same AMD CPU. The transplanted HD booted up just fine and the OS went about the process of installing drivers for the new hardware that it just found. Blow me down! It defied all logic. But had the new PC not had the same CPU as the old PC, it would have, I'm sure, been a totally different ball game.

Good Luck..... and OH, Happy New Year!

You should not have to repeatedly activate -- unless, the other PC continues to be used. If it is still being used, it will repeatedly reset the activation status and eventually, you will not be able to reactivate this PC.
