Probably that won't happen. But what I'm guessing is that some editions will be only available @64bits.

Also possible. Such as Ultimate and Enterprise, and maybe Professional, as these require the most processing power.

This could be possible yes, and i think this would be a good idea, the time is ready to transport everything on x64.

    I don't think so.

We'll have to wait and see.

If not, then I highly doubt any of their components will be able to run Windows 8.
I think in 3 years it would be possible to go with 64 bit only so long as they are still supporting 32 bit on 7 and vista since xp will not be supported anymore.

I can definitely see this happening. I don't even know any contemporary computers that have x32 processors.

Windows 8 won't be only x64. These are the words of M$.

No, there won't be a 128 bit system because there won't be so soon such hardware. Note that actual CPU's are not fully x64 (do not count such CPU's as Xeon or Itanium which are fully 64 bit). Those are the words of Intel

As of 64bit software it isn't so easy to write 64 bit applications and the software manufacturers don't see the point to rewrite it to 64bit OS. All of us know that x86 applications are running on x64 OS but only in emulation mode and I thing that this will change in the near future. This also applies to Multicore development.

    Regards.
