I might be lost here but i read all the links and they start with booting to diskpart, in Windows! It ask you to open cmd, i cant see there is a cmd in Mint. Just the terminal but it does not have the same command and codes. Not sure how to follow those steps without Windows.

Hi there.

I assume you are starting from a LINUX system.

simply download GPARTED to a USB / DVD , boot it and and wipe your HDD totally CLEAN. use the BIOS to set the Boot priority / sequence so it boots the external device first. You can create a partition if you want as well but Windows install will do that anyway. and create the appropriate file system.

From Linux any browser will download the application. IMO use the USB version and simply boot from the USB - it's easier than messing around with burning an ISO image - although Linux has plenty of applications for burning DVD's.

GParted -- A free application for graphically managing disk device partitions

USE THE DOWNLOAD LINKS AT THE TOP of the link -- NOT THE BUTTON SHOWN IN THE SCREENSHOT.

I've made posts before about so called "invasionware" where the download buttons are made harder and more confusing to find so people download all sorts of toolbars / other not wanted "applications" / adware etc. Unfortunately SOURCEFOURGE which used to be excellent is going through the same process = THE GIMP for example has now abandoned sourcefourge for the very same reason. A lot of sites now try and confuse / hide the proper download button hoping you will download the other software !!!.

Now any Windows install media should start installing Windows for you. After install change boot priority back again.

Cheers
jimbo

If need be, view this tutorial at the link below for an out-line of the process.

Windows 7 Full Installer

1) In the BIOS set the boot order to boot first from the CD/DVD Drive, insert the Windows 7 instalation DVD and restart the PC, at the first black/screen hit the space bar for the "Press any key ... " prompt, then at the "Language" screen hold the "Shift" key and hit the F10 hot-key to open a command window.
