Ubuntu is not shown in boot options

hello

i ace installed ubuntu 11.1
but i have no option to boot it after install ?!!

i have installed it on: D>ubuntu

i think the problem is in the windows boot system

i tried: run:msconfig
and the ubuntu boot is not existing !?

any idea?

I suspect you are right. There is a problem with the bootmgr. Somehow the Grub was not properly installed. But the Grub can be a mess for Windows.

I therefore suggest you install Linux on Disk1 or Disk2 - but make sure the other 2 disks are disconnected (pull the Sata or power cables) during the Linux installation. Then you can switch booting between the 2 systems with the BIOS boot order. That is the easiest and avoids all potential problems.

Another good solution is to run Ubuntu in Virtual Box within Windows7. I do that and it runs beautifully at full speed, full screen, etc - and you can run Win7 and Ubuntu in parallel. Just make sure you install the Guest Additions. If you need help, post back.
