I can't get the update to work! This is my second thread concerning this problem. The download stops at 50% then reloads and starts all over again. This is not an isolated problem as I've noticed many other users having the same exact issue. Every time I get a response from someone to try this or that nothing works. I posted this issue on the Microsoft Community Forum hoping to get an answer and again no success. I can not believe Microsoft does not believe this is a REAL issue. When RT version had issues last week they fixed them right away. Are we PC users going to be left without the ability to get a fix? I think it's a shame that we windows users should not be able to get the latest updates. Why was the update from win7 to win8 so easy, and now impossible for us. Please fix this problem!

If you have a hidden $Windows.~BT folder, you may be able to check the Panther directory and find a Setupact.log. I may not be correct on the name and location, but it may show what happens. There is also a setuperr.log. Make sure you are looking at the one which was active during the attempted install.

If you have Bluetooth on the system, you might disable it in the Bios for testing...
