Upgraded, and trying to Factory Reset..

Hi Guys - New to the forum, and it seems as though I'm at the right place. You guys are very concern, and helpful. I'm hoping I'll have an opportunity to help somebody myself in the future.

Here's my problem, I upgraded a new Acer Aspire R7 laptop (great design, but lots of problems) that I purchased recently, because of poor wifi, and I wanted to max it out for upcoming training I'm doing. I swipe out the wifi card with a Intel 7260, 500GB HD with 960 GB SSD, and added 8GB of Ram for total of 12 GB (yes I'm stunting a little..sorry). I got my drivers, and made a recovery USB disk before hand. When I booted up from my USB, and got to the screen right before it was ready to create new partition and install the OS - it gave an error that it couldn't detect System Drive. Messed around some trying different options, and also seen a message that the drive was locked? I'm thinking this is happening because I installed the SSD drive straight from the box without initializing, making a simple drive and formatting it. So, there's a command prompt option that I used to go into DISKPART mode, and was trying to initialized it from there which I couldn't do. Somebody suggested I try by cleaning, creating partition, and del partition which should initialize the disk. It sees the drive, and it's online, but still getting same error. Will appreciate any ideas. Thank you.
