The system reserved partition contains your win8 bootmgr. If you delete it, win8 is dead. Given that you have no CD reader, it is probably the least effort if you reinstall win8 form USB.

Hi there
works fine on W8 from a bootable USB stick too.
Choose REPAIR WINDOWS option once the USB has booted.

Note when booting from a USB device

1) set the machine's BIOS or select a boot menu if your PC presents this --some machines allow a boot menu without going into the BIOS.

2) There's no prompt "Hit any key to boot from the CD/DVD' that you get when booting Windows from a CD / DVD. This means that on a second or subseqent boot you need to remove the USB or you will start the same proceedure over and over again.

Some bootable systems allow you to continue loading an OS from the boot device or give you the option to boot from the HDD. W8 on USB doesn't give you the option.

Cheers

I would redownload the Windows 8 ISO & remake your USB Pen Drive.

You can try this procedure - but you have to first deactivate your C: partition. You may also have to fix the MBR. I am not certain though whether that will help you since you deleted the bootmgr.

hi Hellfire,

you could us ISO2DISK, not ISODISK (ISO2disc - download tag - page 1 - Softpedia)

you can create a bootable USB stick for Windows7 or Windows8, do not know UBUNTU, since i do not use it.

Anyway it worked for me.

And install what you want, 7 or 8
