I am just stunned at how the 8.1 update from the store has screwed over OEM users by breaking the Refresh and Restore tools. How could they have let this happen? I have a hard time believing no one realized this would happen. Do you think there is any chance Microsoft will fix this major fail?
I have a Dell Latitude Tablet. I keep getting an error saying my graphics driver has stopped responding but recovered successfully and if let the tablet go unto sleep mode it tends to stop responding again. Sometimes when I try to wake up the tablet I get a black or black and white staticky looking screen. Rebooting fixes it and all is fine until the next time it goes to sleep for more than a few minutes. I downloaded updated drivers from Dell, didn't help. Got a Windows Update saying there were updated drivers. Tried to download and it failed saying they were already installed. So I decided to use the Refresh tool and discovered it's broken now. Demands I insert media because files are missing. Found out because I upgraded through the Windows Store I can't use those tools anymore and only people with Retail Keys can fix it. This is just beyond wrong. I should not be blocked from doing a factory reset because I bought my device with Windows 8 already installed.
