Reset Windows 8.1 upgraded by Windows Store

I upgraded to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8 with Windows Store, which I had installed by default on notebook, when I bought it.

However, it turned out that some drivers are not very cooperative with new OS. So I want to use the Reset feature.
But, it doesn't let me do it because "some files are missing". The simplest solution would be DVD/ISO, but I don't have either.

I tried downloading ISO with Microsoft tool Windows Setup, but to no avail. When I tried mosharino's method (How to download the Windows 8.1 ISO), it denied my key because it was not a "retail" key.

    Any suggestions?

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.

System Repair Disc - Create in Windows 8

You can make a Microsoft Recovery USB Drive

I personally DO NOT RECOMMEND using this METHOD above, as of the ERRORS you may receive below with the Microsoft Recovery USB Drive. You would be best off using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery DVD's or Recovery USB drive.

I would recommend you making the OEM manufacturer's Recovery DVD's or USB drive.
You can order the Microsoft official OEM Recovery disks from the OEM manufacturer's website.

The Windows Recovery USB drive & Recovery Partition can be very problematic, I recommend you also make a Windows System Image.

System Image - Create in Windows 8

Recovery Drive - Create with USB Flash Drive in Windows 8

System Repair Disc - Create in Windows 8

System Image Recovery - Restore Image on Computer in Windows 8

look for a 3rd party ,Backup software, which fully supports Windows 8, uEFI, GPT & Secure Boot.
    Which is signed by Microsoft.

    Don't do it!!!

Do Not remove the pre-installed recovery partition!!!!

If you delete the partition you will lose the manufacturer's "Factory reset" option from the the recovery options

Say you have an HP PC/Laptop, HP will have added there own options to the recovery partition specific for it.

I made this error myself when re-installed Win 7 from my own Disc for a friend, It over-rides the installed recovery options (Greyed out HDD Recovery) at the bottom of the list

Back up the Whole Drive not just the partition if you can

But Reset function only resets partition C:\, if properly configured (does it?), so I didn't plan to delete recovery partition. I just don't have ISO of Windows 8.1 and it is just stupid that Microsoft didn't think of people upgrading from the Store. By the way, I got the serial number (which is apparently not retail) from app named ProduKey, it is not stuck at the bottom of the laptop, just a "Windows 8" sticker.

Is there another way to obtain ISO of Win8.1?

Has anyone upgraded Windows from XP to 8.1?
Just a curious thought, and I am unsure if it is possible, but has anyone had an installation of Windows Xp and Upgraded to Vista, then 7, then 8, and finally 8.1? Or is that not even possible. I am assuming not as the hardware has changed a bunch from 2001 to 2014 (Now).
