A bit slow sending from MS, used about 9 minutes to receive the ISO file.
Will try and do a clean install later tonight.
I tried to use my Windows 8 PRO with Media Center first for the download, didn't work.
Will I however be able to change to that key after 8.1 installation with the generic 8.1 key installation?
You should be able to enter your wmc key sfter installation. 2 step process. win8.0 key first, then wmc key.
Generic keys are no secret, they are in pid.txt. Those are for rtm, I don't know if they work for the GA setup.
Windows 8.1 RTM (Core, Pro, Enterprise x86, x64) leaked
This is not because it works for X people that should work for everyone
The facts are official MS servers meet some overload problems and
deployment of 8.1 is different depending on the country :
Windows 8.1 disponible gratuitement au téléchargement pour les utilisateurs de Windows 8 ? LaptopSpirit.fr
(Just for example)
Anyway, I'm not a day near ^ ^
The setup file will be 32bit as that is cross platform. That is the thing doing the downloading.
However, the bit version of the iso will be the same as the bit version os you are running.
If you want a 32 bit iso, you will have to do the download from inside a 32 bit os.
Windows 8.1 Pro installed and activated via this Method of downloading.
I had to use my Windows 8 Pro update key to rwgister/activate.
The 8.0 Media Center key would NOT activate Windows 8.1 Pro.
Edit: used Win 8.1 Pro generic RMT key to install.
I wound up doing the store update overnight and it worked fine, but glad folks are finding away to download 8.1
Just finished downloading and burning to a DVD. It was 3.2 gig and took about 2 hours @4Mbs. I haven't installed yet. I'm confused about all the difrent keys. I put in my Win 8 pro key to download. When it finished, it said to use my Win 8 pro key to install. What's up with all the keys in this post?
