    hi guys,

i have more info, especially for Revodrive3 X2 users.

Tried to install Win8 on my Foremay 64 gb drive. Impossible because my MBR is corrupted.

But when starting the USB stick with Win8 on it, i retried to install this on my Revo, which never worked since neither OCZ or MS had drivers.

After browsing for the Win7 driver.....Win8 installs the driver, so normally every Revodrive3 X2 user should be able to install Win8 on this drive.

In my opinion MS added the possibility to accept this driver. You get the option to choose updates before installing Win8.

Anyway i have this works for everyone

    best

well Brink and Pooch, (thanks for your help here), BUT

i cannot get Win8 to install.....sure when i say hit my Foremay Sata-2 drive, i need to format it (loosing B-U data, ok but not funny)....after the format i get the message that the drive cannot be used. Nice.....

Then i try my second partition on my Revo 3 X2 drive (Win7 drivers accepted by Win8) and partition visuable). Again format and after that, partition unusuable.

So now my only option is left to put Win8 over my Win7 OS......you get my drift.....i will be asked to format the C: drive and then get the message partition unusuable.

    Then i can reinstall Win7
    Outllook 2010 X64 Pro
    Adobe Reader
    Adobe Player
    Java X86
    Java X64
    Atomic clock
    Ws-ftp
    Printer Lexmark
    Cpuid
    Easeus partition
Easy Mail Merge (sent mails one by one)
Fancy Cache for Disk (Ram cache)
    Google Chrome
    Google Desktop
    Google Toolbar for Internet
Isodisk 1.0 (make a USB bootable)
    Winrar
    7-Zip

Why i give here the list......it always is easy to reinstall Win7 and Outllook 2010, BUT then you are hooked on the internet to get some 200 patches, service packs etc, this takes for ages, so to speak, and i am on a 100MB fiber connection line.

And after that reinstall the above mentionned programs.

    I really hate that.

So i guess i have to pass for Win8.

Oh forgot, tried to repair my MBR in Win7, as usual driver for my Revo must be loaded, but after the load, then one has to reboot AND AGAIN you are asked to load drivers, come on MS, let's get serious here.

Sorry guys, i am not happy now.

I am sorry you feel this way Jeff, but this is an early software release and you have to expect to have problems with it.

I said I had problems with my Vertex drives. I also could not format them using the Windows 8 install media my answer to this was to format a partition before the install using Windows 7. Then when I came to the partitioning part of the Win 8 install I just pointed Win 8 to the partition I had made and clicked to install.

    Jeff,

I'm sorry to hear it's not working out so far with Windows 8. It's strange since I do not have a problem with installing Windows 8 in a dual boot with Windows 7 on my RevoDrive x2 . May be something different with your RevoDrive 3 x2 I suppose.

Have you already updated it with the latest firmware and driver versions from below?

    hi guys,

here is what i experienced intalling Win8:

    1) could not install Win8 because my MBR was corrupted, not a big deal, bu for the 2d time repair via Win7 did not work, since you are asked for a driver, but even Win7 does not accept this.

    2) So again i reinstalled Win7 on my second partition to get the MBR right, deleted this after install again.

    3) install of Win8 did work out right on my Foremay SSD. But i tried to install this on my Revo and again driver was not accepted.
    So ok for the Foremay.

    4) via my external harddrive (USB) loaded with a lot of static data, i reinstalled Win8 and this time the drives where seen Revo partitions included. Intall of the Win7 driver was accepted for Win8, so now i have my Win8 on my Revo, next to Win7.

    5) i am not so happy with Win8 right now, slower then Win7 and when i open I.E. i cannot close it. Do not know why yet, maybe i must make the screen output smaller.....so i can hit the cross for closing.

    Thanks

    Jeff

    5) funny when i return to Win7 Enyo is missing again, but changing the USB port made it ok. I definitly have motherboard problems. And no i will not buy another board, since next year DDR4 comes and then i will jump in.

This is good news Well done that you didn't give up and have managed to get Windows 8 installed.

Firstly if you have not already done it you should check for updates and look in Device Manager to see that all drivers are correctly installed especially the chipset drivers; http://www.gigabyte.com/products/pro...36&dl=1#driver

Try to install the drivers as if it was Windows 7 if there are problems the compatibility wizard starts to help you

apologies for Windows 8 + few questions

Well i took the effort to reinstall all the necessary programs i mentionned before and i must say that i am getting
    hapier every hour with Win8.

    Here are some questions:

    1) where are the programs you could see in Win7 hitting the start button?
    2) how can one get into "Services" or "Task Manager" or "Regedit"?

Also i have a DLL problem:

    C:\windows\system32\logilDA.dll not found

    Anyway any help is appreciated.

    thanks
