I used EasyBCD to setup dual boot with win 7 and now I can't get back to the original win 8 startup (blue) screen
Can I get back this original screen ? (Win 8 is set up at the front of my drive) Should I just re-install Win 8 to wipe out the easybcd control ? Should have done more reading before installing.

By default, Easybcd stores backups here:

C:\Users\username\Documents\EasyBCD Backup (10-28-2011).bcd

You could be lucky enough to be able to restore the original?m Look under the "BCD backup/repair" tab

There are a couple of ways you might have used the progam to create a dual boot(? Windows 7/8 normally create a dual boot?)
Perhaps, in the unlikely case that you only changed the boot order, you could try making Windows 8 your default. That does it for me.

Use several different computers during a day, so specs are irrelevant.
Try these two options:

Open an elevated comman prompt (run as administrator) and use this bcdedit command:

"bcdedit /set {bootmgr} displaybootmenu no" (without quotes)

Alternatively, go to your system properties and follow the arrows below:

mikedl - did not work all it did was change the order on the windows boot manager black screen/white writing. This is the screen I would like to get rid of and revert to the Win 8 startup screen.

Ah, sorry to hear that.

I hadn't tried the above mentioned two items as I discovered them only after I had already performed a refresh to restore the Win8 8102 Boot Screen.

Just re-installed - solved everything.
