Windows 8 Home
I'm having increasing problems with hints all? of them trace back to W8. Be patient while a make a short list.
Browsers - IE 10, FF 23, Chrome, which I uninstalled - neither of them display pictures, buttons, link correctly in a number of web pages. For buttons like CONTINUE and SUBMIT, I have to run the cursor over the page to find the hidden button. This problem has existed since I bought the PC (I think).
Outlook 2010. Started getting 'item cannot be saved' and/or 'folder was deleted/removed' errors on attempting to retrieve mail or add a calendar event.
If I can explain this correctly, in the top right of every app are three icons? - MINIMIZE/RESTORE/CLOSE. For every iteration of windows I've owned, these icons were always in the same place. That is, if I had 8 apps open, I could put my cursor in one spot (e.g., over MINIMIZE), click 8 times, and all apps would be minimized. No longer. On some apps, the cursor is over MINIMIZE, sometimes over RESTORE due to different sizes of these icons.
I've searched the net for weeks and these (and others) have references to reinstall Windows. I have little interest in this since, AFAIK, this is major work. Now for my question.
I know? reinstall/reset will force me to reinstall, not only windows, but all installed apps. Also, I'll have to save/reinstall personal files. I'll stop short of saying that idea is DOA, but I have little interest in spending a majority of 4 days rebuilding my PC. Refresh seems to save most settings/files, but still requires reinstalling apps. Do I understand these options correctly? Is there a less painful way to correct the problems? Is it possible there are individual fixes for each problem? (But, for example, the Outllok problem is 'resolved' by reinstalling Outlook. Di that. Didn't help.
