I am confused about the ways to install 8.1.
I have retail version of 8.0 installed on my Dell and pretty much set up to my satisfaction using Start8. I would like to eventually upgrade to 8.1 without reinstalling all my programs and retain all my customizations. When and from where can I get a download of 8.1 that is the 'final' version. I suppose it will be the RTM that is now available but I have read something somewhere about the availability for non-technet type users later this Fall. Is that correct and will it act as a service pack so I can do what I would like to do? If I have to buy a retail copy of 8.1, that is OK but would prefer a free version.
Would someone please shed some light into this darkness?
Thank you very much.
