Finally; got all the parts for my grandson's computer.
Basics are;
Mobo= ASUS P8 Z77-V LK Manual located here
i7 3770K5
50W PS
8 PRO Full OEM
8GB - DDR3-1600 RAM or 4 GB - 16 GB DDR3-1333 RAM
EXPERT NEEDED

1 stick of Ballistix 8GB Sport DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) CL9 (planned to order more later)

Then my brother pitched in 2 packs of Patriot G Series ‘Sector 5’ Edition 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model PGV38G1333ELK total 16GB (4X4 GB)

When it starts, there are no beeps. but it will not do more than a test and shut down. It doesn't mention a test.

I started out with 4 sticks. Pulled those 4 sticks and tried the single 8GB stick in Dimm 1 & 2.

The monitor led changes color orange-to-blue and then back to orange without even saying 'No Signal' , Del for BIOS etc.

Any ideas ??

Recheck all your cable connections....sounds like something is not hooked up/plugged in?

Checked/rechecked connections and all are good.
There is a red LED that stays on and according to ASUS manual that means memory fails .
Oh well, nothing more I can do until next month but my grandson is greatly disappointed
I'm starting to wish it was an intel mobo

RAM, PS, HDD, all check out in another computer so it looks like I'll be sending to ASUS after I find the antistatic bag it shipped in.
I guess this is solved.
