So I am here trying to downgrade my Windows 8 laptop to Windows 7. (It is an ASUS X55U by the way)

Everytime I go to advanced startup settings it doesnt show the troubleshoot option, only the Continue and Turn Off Your PC options. It's frustrating me I've tried everything and the option won't appear.

Anyone know what's wrong?:sarc:

You might need drivers - best d/l them from Asus website first.

Good luck with it. Win 7 is great.

Following the videos instructions I crossed a problem..

My BIOS menu isn't showing my hard drive, just my USB drive (which has my Windows 7 on it) and my dvd drive, is there any fix for this?

You need to enable CSM and PXE first , then reboot. Tap F2 to go into bios again and the Hard Drive boot option should be there.

I did that, it's not showing up, the USB shows up in it's place :(

The PO: ST9320325AS thing is a seagate HD.

Set dvd drive first, and the oddly named Windows boot manager ( PO: ST9320325AS0) second.

You will need to have the win7 dvd in the dvd drive when you reboot, else it will just try to boot from the HD.

1) Downgrade to Windows 7.
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/13326-downgrade-windows-8-windows-7-a.html
Warning you must have the UEFI/BIOS firmware setting in Step Three set.

2) If Using a USB Pen drive on a PC with a UEFI BIOS.
USB Pen drive need to be formatted to FAT32 as in
http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/15458-uefi-bootable-usb-flash-drive-create-windows.html
Take note of Step 11 for Windows 7.
Also you will need to use a USB 2.0 port, as there are no USB 3.0 drivers in Windows 7.

1) Disable" SECURE BOOT"
