Installing a different version of Windows 8 question

I have an OEM Windows 8 version installed on my C: drive and a separate hard drive for other drive mappings/shares.
So the only thing I have on my first drive (C:) is Windows 8 and I have a verified image backup of it (C:).
I'd like to install the Windows 8 Enterprise trial version in place of my current install for some testing.
Will the installation routine allow me to basically wipe (not upgrade) my entire install on C: ?

Once I'm done testing, I'll place my original Windows 8 image back on C:.

Hello Mark,

If you do a clean install of Windows 8 Enterprise evaluation copy on C:, then it wipe everything on C:.
Depending on what tests you need to perform, you might consider just installing Windows 8 Enterprise on a virtual machine using a program like VMware Player if you like. This way you will not need to mess with or reinstall your current OEM Windows 8 when you are finished testing Windows 8 Enterprise.
In addition, there's also a Windows 8.1 Enterprise Preview copy available if you would prefer it instead of just Windows 8 Enterprise.
Hope this helps, :)
Shawn

Thanks Shawn. I really want to run the evaluation on my own hardware instead of a VM. I have and do use VM's but if this test works the way I hope it does then I'd be buying the pro version upgrade to 'fix' an issue that I can't seem to resolve with the Windows 8 core version I have installed. This way I'd know for certain (I feel).

Mark,

I would recommend to install the Windows 8.1 Pro Preview as Ray posted above instead since you were thinking about purchasing Windows 8 Pro. This way you will be testing the same edition.

Good point, I'll hunt for the download. This assumes I can do a clean install, which is what I want.
