Solved Windows 8.1 aka blue update faillure

Hi everyone,

I tried to update the latest windows 8.1. I got the installation package but when it started saying looking for updates on this computer it said that it was not applicatable on this computer..



How can I install it?

download the windows 8.1 ISO (if you dont already have it), extract the files, using winrar, or 7zip. Once the files are extracted,run the setup.exe file and follow the prompts.

The problem is when I install it like that I cannot turn back to windows 8.0..
This is no problem because I like the new version better but I don't know if its limited.
Does anyone know if its a limited preview or limited for use?

Hello Sebas,

Windows 8.1 Preview is full use beta that expires on January 15th 2014. You will be able to either clean install to Windows 8.1 final (RTM) when released OR upgrade from Windows 8.1 Preview to Windows 8.1 final (RTM), but you will only be able to "Keep your files" and not any apps or settings.

Hi,
Try it on a separate partition and avoid upgrading your current stable version 8.

Keep you current installation. Dual-boot is the way to go! VMs are good but I prefer bare metal.
