Solved Windows 8 Install

I have a Gateway DX4870-UB318 that came preloaded with Windows 8 64 Bit. Prior to purchasing this I bought the upgraded Windows 8 Pro upgrade for a laptop. I did not like it on the laptop and took it off. Last night I was restoring the Gateway to factory settings and the power went off. So, now the PC is stuck in limbo. It keeps trying to repair but never does regardless of what I do. I did make a back up of the system restore feature but that does not help either. So, I decided to just start fresh. I was going to install Windows 8 Pro that I purchased earlier. I tried to install the Windows 8 Upgrade on my Work PC that is also 64 Bit. I entered the product key and then the program ended. The error message is "Download did not complete successfully. The Download task did not complete. The data is invalid."

My question is: What can I do? I really want a nice install of Windows 8. I have added memory and a video card to the Gateway. How do I get a fresh install on it? Should I install an old version of Windows 7 and then upgrade? Why is the Download not working on the work PC? Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

I have the recovery cd's but they do not help. It is just an endless loop of "Repairing" and never actually repairs.
