Ok
I just upgraded to windows 8. I first install it, and then I Re-install it again using UEFI mode install.
On this screen (below), I Forgot! to click "NEW", (I just went ahead and click next).
Now this is what I get:
So did I ended up with the correct installation results?
You're all good to go. Your Disk Management shows that you have Windows 8 installed with UEFI.
As long as the selected hard drive is completely unallocated (no partitions), the Windows 8 installation will automatically format it properly with GPT for UEFI whether you clicked on New or Next. Well, that is as long as you boot from a Windows 8 installation UEFI USB/DVD.
But 1 more question, I installed Windows 8 twice. How can I find out if I have the old windows 8 installation still lingering around? I did not click format on the "Unallocated Space" setting screen. I don't want to dual boot 2 different windows 8 install.
"Unallocated space" would be a deleted drive, so it wouldn't have a previous installation of Windows 8 on it.
You could also double check to see if you have a C:\Windows.old folder. If you do, that would be a copy of the previous installation if you did an upgrade or repair install.
