Solved windows 8 reinstall bios key

hi my pc come with windows 8 on it..i desided to go to windows seven again so did a fresh install.now i have desied go back to windows 8 only problem is i found no key!.so i read up that windows 8 key is in the bios.so i read up what windows it comes with and all it sez is windows 8.so what disk do i need for a reinstall i did a aio windows disk witch i downloaded did not like the key so im at a loss where go from here! i have the ACERPredator G3 Desktop PC
please help

You will need to contact the manufacturer to obtain a restore disk. The key in the BIOS won't be valid for anything else.

& made the Startup Repair CD.

yep i deleted everythin b4 putting windows 7 on and i thought i made a recovery disk but turned out just be the drivers ggrr well thank u for the help guess im gonna have pay out! :(

The Windows 8 OEM COA has no key, as it is embedded in the BIOS.

Typical business megalomaniacs! They find any reason not to give you whats yours... Have you noticed how sales receipts self destruct by fading away in a matter of months.. No proof of purchase now... Bastages...

Dont give up, make them give you what is rightfully yours, explain that your windows had serious issues and were forced to downgrade.

When you get your Eight back, try dual boot.. Have the the option to switch back and forth as you please without reinstalling..

It also helps to have the other when one becomes problematic..

yep brooklyn its no wonder ppl go to linux i would to be honest if it was not for the gaming part :(...i may just get windows 8 upgrade i dont know yet just bit disapointed at mo :(

Pre-installed OEM versions of Windows 8 embed the product code in the BIOS. There is no need for a COA sticker because official Windows 8 install media will auto detect it and install the matching version. There are essentially two consumer versions of Windows 8. Windows 8 (core edition) and Windows 8 Pro. 8 Pro can also be upgraded to 8 Pro with Media center. Your PC likely came with just Windows 8 (non pro version). Your install media was likely modified because there is no official all in one version. The version offered by Microsoft on TechNet and MSDN are listed as (Multiple Editions) and do include 8 and 8 Pro. I used one to do a clean install on my ASUS laptop. My embedded 8 core code was detected and used and the standard Windows 8 was installed. Activated and validated just fine on line too. I have heard that store bought retail media will do this too, I haven't confirmed it myself though. Unfortunately there are no official download links for ISO files from Microsoft other than TechNet or MSDN which are subscription services.

Did anyone notice where the OP said "aio Windows disk" -- which is typical Warez term for All-in-One, how they often distributed pirated and cracked Windows images.

I noticed, I stated "Your install media was likely modified because there is no official all in one version." My comment was meant to tell the OP the install media he downloaded was modified by some one and not official. That's also why it didn't work right. I could have explained it better but I guess I just did.

If you can find one it should work just fine. The other way to go is to order recovery media from Acer for your model desktop.

ok so all i see is torrent sites where get it from but they wont work as they been modded?..where did you get yours from to get it take the key?
any help would be great put in right direction

I took a chance on one that was listed as "MSDN untouched" on bit-torrent. After I downloaded it I checked the MD5 hash against what Microsoft said it should be. It matched so it was likely an original MSDN ISO that somebody uploaded. I used it once and it worked just fine. A little while after that I got a Microsoft MVP award. With that I get access to some TechNet and MSDN downloads so now I have official Microsoft ISO's to use and don't have to worry about it.

Yeah, most of them are "already activated" or "pre cracked" and have god knows what else done to them. :eek: Getting an ISO off of bit torrent was a last resort for me at the time.
