Could be something ese is wrong, but I downloaded another copy of the iso last night, burnt it and I was able to install it with no problems at all.

I'm just saying give it a try, your spending way more time in trying to fix it. If the new iso does the same thing, then we can start looking at other options.
You do know what a SHA1 hash is do you? If that is correct then there is no reason to download the ISO again. Anyway you probably downloaded a corrupted ISO, so thats why it solved ur problem..

I also managed to fix it, finally, after lots of hours work, I realized that I got an 4GB SD card in my camera.. Made that bootable with win8,, and it worked flawlessly

Try re-burning your DVD, at the slowest possible speed.

    @2mad4
I tried first with my USB stick, several times. This did not work. Then I used an SD-card, because I have an sd-card reader in my netbook. With the 4GB SD-card it worked fine. I dont get why it worked with my SD and not with my USB... but this was the solution for me.

I did not try with DVD, because I have a netbook which doesnt have a CD/DVD drive. Which makes it even more strange that its asking me for a CD/DVD drive driver, but eh.. maybe because its still in beta stage, this could be a bug..

    Windows 7 & 8 Dual Boot

I was having the same error when trying the installation using a Micro SD with the elago USB adapter. Then, tried the Micro SD in a SD Card adapter which was then inserted into a USB adapter. Boot it up. Voila! Installation was a breeze.

    Hi there
I had this problem too when trying from a USB device.

However using the BOOTSECT from the W7 x-64 disc fixed the problem.

Use the Manual way (command line) to create your USB and ensure it's bigger than 4GB -- a 4GB one isn't enough -- an 8GB stick is fine.

Copy the directories and data from the ISO --- mount the ISO as a virtual device using daemon tools / alcohol52% Free edition or whatever Virtual drive program you use.

Why the bootsect from the W8 disc didn't work I don't know. BTW when copying the data copy all the files from the W8 image -- only use the W7 image when you are using the BOOTSECT command to make the usb bootable.

    Cheers

there's no need for all of this
When Windows is asking for driver, just click Cancel. You will be brought back to the welcome screen. At the welcome screen, remove your USB drive, insert it back to DIFFERENT USB PORT. Click Install Now again. The installation process will be like usual.

This problem happened to all new version of updated Windows 7 installer. I think, it is due to failure of Windows installer to remain its detection to the USB drive. It lost the connection, and became confused, don't know where to find the USB drive it used to read before.

When we re-insert the USB drive, Windows installer will detect the USB drive back, and continue like usual.

    good luck guys

I had the same problem installing Windows 7 from a USB stick. The problem I was having is that Windows 7 doesn't have driver from the USB3 controller the stick was plugged in.
An easy way to check it, when you press browse button, if you don't see drive "X" then this is the problem and you should find the driver for the USB controller.
From that window installing USB3 driver fixed my problem.

    P.S.
Another interesting thing to note, if you have combined 32bit and 64bit installation files, then you'd need use 32bit driver even if you planning install 64bit OS (because it uses 32bit boot.wim if combined properly)
