Factory-installed Win8 Failed Initial Boot

I set up a new, out-of-box Gateway G530 and turned it on. Before it booted all the way, I decided to re-arrange the cables, so I turned it off. It was at the initial configuration screen at that point. When I rebooted, I got a screen advising me that Windows had experienced an error, and I could Refresh or Restore the computer. I elected to Refresh. Following the Refresh, a user login displayed. Inasmuch as I set up no user accounts, I decided to attempt logging in as Administrator. I tried several password variations (blank, Administrator, Admin), but none worked. Sometimes, I get a message that I have been locked out.

The computer does not ship with any disks. I don't have any Win8 disks (though I do have a Win7 OEM CD).

Any suggestions for getting around this impasse?

Thank you.

I wasn't able to figure out how to get back to that screen after Refresh had completed.

I just came from the Gateway website. Apparently, I can press Left Alt-F10 during boot to reach the option screen. I'll have to try that when I get a chance.
