Hi,
I've just bought an Asus X201E. I got the linux version, because as a student I get a free MSDN copy of any Windows OS... Long story short, I've been trying both Windows 8 32/64bit and Win 7 32 bit, all of them dosplaying an error during unpacking system files in the installation process @32-42%. I've tried everything, switching the SATA mode to IDE, rebooting, switching flash drives, etc. Since there are X201E models being sold with Windows 8 I figured there would be no problem installing it? Help please, it's really driving me mad..

Thanks. I tried the "clean" command and then doing a slow format, but I still get the same error.
Should I try to boot some linux distro to perform a memtest, just in case? It's brand new, but who knows.. Although the original linux booted just fine.

Okay. Someone told me to switch to a different flash drive model. Before I used an ADATA 16GB, now I stuffed the files into an old slow Kingston DataTraveller II 4GB and it worked like a charm. I thought it could have been caused by one being ntfs and the other fa32, but they're both ntfs. Anyways, thanks.
