Currently installed in VBox that was itself installed on 7989, just to see what the interface was like. Planning on installing the version including development tools (the largest 4.8GB release) as soon as I've downloaded and processed it. Will install this on a partition instead of VBox so that I don't have any restrictions that imposed by the virtual environment (emulated audio/graphics, for example).

Hardcore! VBox running Windows 8 Developer Release, on Windows 8 Leak?! Nice. And how was the interface? Slow and laggy?

Yep. Slow, which is one of the reasons why I prefer native installs as opposed to installations running in virtual machines. Like I said, I just did this to see what the interface was like (which is ideal for a VM), but to test and evaluate properly I still believe that only a full installation to a separate partition will give a true picture.

Only drawback is I do not have a boot order menu but have to use Bios boot order menu options (F8) on my Asus mobo to boot into either Windows 7 or Windows 8.

As others have alluded to the installer will let you choose a separate partition on the same drive but not a separate drive.
I solved my lack of Boot menu like this, is this what you mean?

Install EasyBCD in Windows 7 (it is free) and you will be prompted with a menu. You will be able to boot either OS very easily
