Hy there, I'm new to this forum and also a new WIndows 8 user. Just bought an Acer Aspire E1-741G with Windows 8 installed. It works great and I'm enjoying it very much, but last night, when I'm done browsing the net and was about to shut down my laptop, the screen shows "Configuring Update". I haven't turned off the windows automatic update and I guess my laptop was downloading updates without I notice it.

I waited for the update configuration to finish, after it reaches 30%, it shut down by itself. Then when I move to my bedroom and turn it on again, my laptop won't bring up the windows. It passes through the startup screen (with acer logo and all) but then after a few seconds, the screen goes dark grey, then blink and shows blank screen and then back to dark grey and so on...

The windows 8 OS was installed when I bought it and I didn't get any installation DVD. The guarantee is actually still available, but stupidly, I can't find the guarantee card. I look through the web and most of them tells me to get into Safe Mode but the tutorial shows that I can get to safe mode when windows able to boot and start properly. Some others said it needs to get into BIOS, but I had no idea how to get into BIOS (tried several ways, still no result). I was going to take the last solution, and this seems to be able to work somehow. Yes, I'll buy a Windows 8 DVD and see if I'm able to repair it from the DVD.

Is there any of you knows how to boot from DVD? Windows 8 Startup screen doesn't show any boot mode/option.

Thanks before and after :)
