After BIOS page passes, it loads for 10 seconds and crashes. Error screen disappears too quickly so can't take note. This is a new laptop.

Have tried 64 bit Windows 8 ISO and from Flashdisk.

Windows 7 Ultimate.

And also, I tried running setup Windows 8 from Windows 7, it said Windows 8 setup has failed at 40% (in Windows 7 still).

Hi thanks.

I'm doing the tutorial you listed now - creating UEFI flashdisk.

In the meantime, do tell me something. Is my laptop not suitable for Windows 8?

Just FYI, I was pissed after several hours trying. So I ran check program Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant. It said NX is not supported on my processor and thus Windows 8 isn't feasible. >_>

I'm still copying the file again.

No such thing as

B) Having the free program 7-Zip installed, right click on the sources\install.wim file on the USB, and click/tap on 7-Zip and Open archive. (see screenshot below)

Cannot find install.wim anywhere.

Are you now going to install Windows 7?
As Step 11 is for Windows 7 only.

Now it's complaining about my harddisk.

Current state

2 partitions

C and D

C Windows

D Data

I deleted C during Windows 8 setup. It refuses to install still to that location - something about GPT and MBR. =\

Help?

Yes I booted using Windows 8 UEFI Flashdisk (Not DVD). I disabled Legacy mode in my BIOS, so I don't think my computer can boot off non UEFI flashdisk.

In your 2nd screen, there are 2 partitions for me. First C and D. I tried to make a new partition off C drive which has been deleted, but Windows 8 shows error message.

Do I need to delete the D also?

Press ENTER on the UEFI Drive, not the non-UEFI drive.(As in screenshot)

In your first screenshot there are two DVD, one UEFI and one Non UEFI right?

In my place there's only one.

Also, in partition page, I don't think it's possible to install Windows 8 UEFI with MBR partition exists already? Should I delete every partition first?

NO, only one DVD Drive.

The screenshot states, One Physical DVD Drive, at the top.
