Windows 8 upgrade version install on new hardware.
I got the Win 8 pro upgrade and since I am getting a nice refund for taxes I am buying an new motherboard cpu and ram.
What I would like to know is am I still going to be able to use the Upgrade on the new hardware? I can install win 7 first then do an upgrade if need be. Will I have to do something with the activation or what?
I am unsure of what is going to be required of me. Am I still legal with the upgrade install or will I have to buy an oem or retail?

Thanks very much. I should have also stated I was not sure whether to boot to the usb stick or do it from in Windows. Booting is what I see is needed.
So all I need to do is either run that batch file and reboot to activate it or refresh. Which is the preferred method? The batch file seems quicker then the refresh or I may be mistaken. So with the above method I should have no activation issues due to the new hardware. I also neglected to say that when I first installed Win 8 I did a wipe and not an upgrade. So I used the Win 8 key.

I personally like the refresh method. It's takes a few minutes longer, but has never failed.
The new hardware shouldn't be an issue since you are allowed by the EULA to transfer Windows 8 to another computer.
