I would use Virtual Box for the early distros - e.g. the beta versions. It is the approach that gives you the least trouble. If you don't like it or want to change it, you only have to delete 2 folders.

I have done that with the Win7 Beta and it worked like a charm. It was not even much slower - just a bit.

Else I would subscribe to the advice that Ted gave. With 4 primary partitions you are stuck right now.

I had that very issue and had to solve it with my Windows 7 DVD

Installing 7989 as dual boot (issue)

If you install it as dual boot, I recommend you image the 100MB active partition (if present) BEFORE you install /8. Then, if you ever want to get rid of /8, just restore that image and the /8 partition becomes a plain data partition which you can reformat, delete or whatever, Your original bootmgr will be back with the restore of the 100MB partition and win7 seven will boot as before.

If you happen to have 2 or more HDDs in your system, unplug all HDDs except the one where you want to install /8 (this must have no OS on it). Then install /8 on the connected HDD and switch the Operating System with the BIOS boot sequence.

    Wolfgang,
Thanks for all your input...Much appreciated.
To date I haven't done anything yet mostly because I am not that savvy to mess with it yet.
When I get the time and written instructions will give it a go.
Thanks everyone for all your input.

You are right. I am in no hurry with /8 either. Will wait for the official Beta. I may install it on one of my HDDs that is still housing Vista or in a virtual machine. I used vBox for the /7 Beta and that worked very well.
