Windows 8 Pre-Release & Windows 8 Pro Setup

Hello!

I currently have been browsing for the last couple of hours for a solution to my current situation regarding my Windows 8 installation. I had Windows 8 Pre-Release installed (and since last week, it has expired) and so I had went out and bought a actual CD of Windows 8 Pro (as I wanted an actual certified hard copy of the OS). What I had did to not loose my confidential data is I setup a second partition just for the new Windows 8 pro installation. I installed it on a 80GB partition, leafing my original Windows 8 Pre-Release on a 220 GB partition.

What I am trying to do exactly is to transfer over ALL my applications, data, onto my Windows 8 Pro partition, and eventually, delete the Windows 8 Pre-Release partition as a whole, making my Windows 8 Pro the dominating OS of my hard drive. I wanted to know if their are any ways to encounter this! I am an actual developer so the less time consuming the better!

Thanks!

Upgrade to Windows 8 with only a product key - Microsoft Windows

Microsoft said:
Make sure you’re on the PC you want to upgrade. This must be a PC that is currently running Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3), Windows 8 Release Preview, Windows 8 Consumer Preview, or Windows Developer Preview. (Windows 8 Setup checks that your PC meets all system requirements before it installs Windows 8.)

Have your product key handy. You can find it in your online order information, in the confirmation email for your purchase, or on the packaging. The product key will look something like this:
XXXXX- XXXXX- XXXXX- XXXXX- XXXXX

Make a backup of everything you want to keep. Save it somewhere you can get to it later, like an external drive or a DVD.

Always better to do a clean install.

I would also vote for a clean install. Your data you can transfer but the programs you have to reinstall.
