Make backup windows 8 format to windows 7 and back to win8

i just bought a new computer with windows 8, is it possible to make a backup of my windows 8 then format and put windows 7 on it until i finish my course and then reinstall windows 8? (because my school books are based on windows 7 and it would just be easier to follow exercises)

If you burn your recovery disk set for windows 8 and you can use that to go back. You should get a prompt to do it when you first set it up. You could also use a Windows 8 DVD to do it, if you have or can borrow one that matches your installed version. It should automatically detect the OEM embedded product key in the BIOS and then do an automatic activation. Burn the recovery disk set before you install Windows 7 because once you do you may not be able to access the hidden recovery partition. If the utility that launches it on boot up is tied to the boot loader on the disk, it may not work when Windows 7 overwrites the boot loader.
