I am trying to add a Kingston SSD to my DV7T running windows 8.
I cloned the drive that's in the computer with Acronis. I switched the drives the SSD as the primary drive and the old HD as secondary. When I booted the system it booted from the old drive. In windows the system sees the ssd as the D: drive and the old drive as C:

Help what should I do...

Welcome to EightForums.

1) Remove old HD Drive, & see if SSD boots. If no.

2) Use Paragon
The only 3rd party software that I know of, that fully supports Windows 8 is PARAGON 12.

Free try link:
Paragon Backup & Recovery Home

THEOG! IT WORKED!

So I know you posted this awhile ago, but I hadn't tried it because I could only find the paid version. After you posted this link I found the free trial version. I installed the program, went to Disk Migration, automated everything, took out the HDD, put in the SSD, and it boot in less than 5 seconds, perfectly.

Wow! There is a solution.
