When I chose shrink, Disk management scanned for shrink space available for 'C:' and finally produced aroung 573GB for 'C:'.How could i manage to reduce it to 300GB.

Yes, looks good to use Disk Management.

    Can I offer a suggestion?
Get a 32gb USB stick and go to hp recovery manager and copy the recovery partition to the stick.

I too have a brand new Hp dv7 and was able to install windows on a brand new (formatted) SSD hard drive with nothing but my recovery USB.

Another thing I really like about the HP recovery manager I that you can restore the system from a "minimalized image"
Basically go back to scratch with only the operating system and drivers.
    No factory installed "bloat ware"

    Hope this helps

No problems. What I'm saying is that I reinstalled windows on a formatted hard drive with the recovery stick. So it does apply. There was no hard drive in my machine other then the brand new SSD.
