Encountered this problem when trying to install windows: I couldnt install windows in C ,neither to format that partition because of this message [Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks] and an error code 0x0000 smth... while attempting to format the C. I could only manage to instal windows after deleting all of the partitons???? On another install more recently ,even I was having a single c partition, I still couldnt manage to instal my windows there or format it without deleting that system reserve partition, backup one and EFI one.

Is anythink ok in doing that and should I change the partiton table style an reinstalling winodws that way?how?

Also dont know if this has relevance : during the windows installation from disk when I was prompted to choose from where to boot in boot menu there was besides the SATA corp an UEFI one also but I selected to boot from the SATA one? I dont know if it was correct but I managed to install Windows ( ofc after deleting the stuff I mentioned) but now when I entered the boot menu I can only see the SATA one.

and for that do I need to create a UEFI bootable USB flash if I have the install disk?

You need to start with a clean HD Drive, for Windows 8 to install in uEFI mode.

and for that do I need to create a UEFI bootable USB flash if I have the install disk?

You can use the Windows 8 x64 DVD.

the second turorial reminds about that message " windows cant be installed on dive 0 partition 4". Will I get this messsage too if I follow the 1st tutorial and your instruction of typing convent gpt?
and If so are u sure I can continue with the install as the tutorial assures you cause ,quoting " as long as you can click the next button youl're fine". I dont think that button will be active.

Oh crap...
I opened that command window on the language screen as shown in the tutorial, typed all the commands including the "clean all" but I awaited almost an hour but dint get the message that it suceeded in cleaning. I have 250 GB HDD.How long should it take?

I didnt await longer and dint type that command "convent GPT" ( btw are u sure its not CONVERT instead of Convent ? ) closed the command window and I continued with install. It seems it cleaned something since my drive shown as a single unallocate space. Cliked New > Aply>Ok (as it says in that "clean Uefi instal tutorial") but instead of those 4 partitions that suppose to appear I got only the System one and the Primary one. I might retry later but dont know how long to further await for that "cleaning".And pls confirm if its convent or convert gpt. Also in the case it works and finally shows that succeed in cleaning I need to type right away the new comnand Convent gpt right? and what happens after I type this? Need to wait a bit? and then close the windows from the x button and continue with win8 install or type exit twice to leave the dikpart and window ? or something else?

oh so its CONVERT not Convent .Obvious !! but I see you continues with misspeling it :) so after suceeding in coverting it should I type exit twice or to simply close the window with the x button and continue with install?

You have got into a same problem which i faced yesterday.

Here is what i did.

1) Insert Windows DVD. You may use USB.
2)Select Language.
3)In Install now page, Press Ctrl+F10. (elevated command prompt opens)

4)Type : diskpart (diskpart loads)
5)Type : list disk (You will get the list of HDD/SSD present in your system, with number to identify each)
6)Type : select disk <disk number>
7)Type : clean
8)Type : exit (twice, first to exit diskpart , then to exit elevated command prompt)

9)Select Install Now.

10) Select Unallocated space and click next.(Windows automatically creates 3 necessary partitions)
If you want to create partitions, Create it by Selecting Drive options, Clicking New and entering the size in MB.
Finally Select the Partition for your windows and Click Next.

11) Thats it! You have completed your Windows installation.

If I am not Clear to you. Go here.
