My computer is an Acer Aspire M3970, Core I5, 8 gigs memory, 1 TB hard drive, AMD Radeon 6450 video card, 64 bit, and running Windows 7 Home Premium. I ran Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant and the only reports were as follows: Windows Live Mail is not offered in Win 8; Win 8 has no DVD player (I have the latest version of VLC); and Secure Boot does not work on this computer. I bought Windows 8 Pro Upgrade and loaded the 64 bit DVD. It took me successfully to the point where it was completely installed and rebooted. At this point, I was advised that Windows 8 upgrade could not be completed. I retried about 40 times but I was never successful. I had a live chat with Acer, but all they advised was that I should try to upgrade manually (which I did). Can anyone offer any advice?
