Hey all,

I just got a new HP ENVY dv7t-7200 CTO Quad that came pre-loaded with Windows 8. I wanted to install Windows 7 so I enabled "Legacy Support" in the BIOS which disabled UEFI mode. Everything went fine from there. I ultimately decided to go back to Windows 8.

I found this guide but could not get my Windows 8 installation that I have on disc to load on startup: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorial...e-firmware-interface-install-windows-8-a.html

I disabled "Legacy Support" in the BIOS so now UEFI mode is re-activated.
My UEFI Boot Order in the BIOS is:
CD/DVD Rom
USB Drive
OS Boot Manager

But when I have the disc in and restart windows, it does not read the Windows 8 installation from the disc. If I press F9 to change the Boot Order it only shows:
OS Boot Manager
Boot from EFI File

It should be noted that the it will recognize the disc if I'm not booting in UEFI mode.

I could install Windows 8 again without UEFI but I would really prefer it. Any suggestions?

Solved -I went to System Recovery while starting up by hitting F11, then used the option to restore the comp back to factory settings. It installed Windows 8 in UEFI Mode
