Disk Partition Strategy

Dear all,

I'm new to the forum. Please forgive me if a similar thread had already been posted.

Before Win8, I usually separate my "data" - My documents and non-sys applications to another drive from c: at an approximate ratio: e.g. c:d = 1:2 , for the reason of easier backup and faster file searching on a smaller c: I believe.

So far, I'm not sure where installed apps go to. Perhaps I'd try to get myself comfortable to forget where exactly they are. Then, I should reserve more disk space for c: . What partition strategy would you suggest?

App's are best installed to C: with Windows.
