I've been trying at it for a couple days now but nothing seems to be working!
My friend is trying to install Windows 8 pro 64bit over his Windows 7 32bit. I know you can't 'upgrade' so we went with the custom/clean install. We backed up any files he needed and used the Windows USB boot tool and loaded the iso file into a bootable usb. Went through the install process and about 10mins in, the PC restarts itself.
I then get an error saying...
Recovery
Your PC needs to be repaired.
The digital signature for this file couldn't be verified.
File: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
Error code: 0xc0000428
It then gives you some options at the bottom to choose another OS or startup settings, but choosing those options just flickers the screen and does nothing. I've tried reinstalling and the same thing occurs. I've also tried other methods such as copying the bootmgr file from the USB onto the boot drive to replace the older bootmgr, but that didn't work either.
Any ideas??? I'm not sure I can get back it back W7 since everything on the HD is already wiped (don't care about the data obviously, just want to get W8 to work...)
