I have an HP Touch Smart PC that was delivered with Vista which I upgraded to Windows 7 almost immediately. Now I've upgraded to Windows 8.
The installation seems to have been trouble free for several days, but now the system boots up quickly, then the monitor goes black. It does not respond to the mouse or to the Windows button on the keyboard.
If I disconnect and reconnect the power cord, it boots again with no problem, the initial screen comes up, then the monitor goes black again. Only the monitor seems to be affected. The power light and other illuminated indicators are lit.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to the cause/solution?
