Hello

I am currently running a intel 3570k 8 gig ram 1000g hdd windows 7 64 bit. I just bought a SSD and want to install windows 8(which should be arrive tomorrow). I was wondering exactly how I would go about installing windows 8 on the SSD. I want to do a clean install and reformat the other drive. I want to keep the other drive for storage etc.

the ssd is the Kingston hyper 240g. I looked around and found some sort of answers, but didn't find a thread or guide that helped with this.

Thank you,

Regan

Bureau.jpg Hello,
2 possibilities:

- Or do you want an SSD with Windows 8, which does not grow by eye (due Users folder, winsxs, etc ...);

- Either you install everything on the SSD (recommend) saw that step is sufficiently important.

Today I am available, I don't work

Well I would like windows on my SSD, want to have most files and data on my HDD. However I want to put some files and programs on my SSD.

I also don't know if I have UEFI. I just have a Asus P8Z77-PRO.

Should i unplug my HDD and install win 8 on ssd? Or should i even both just pop in the ssd and install it on the ssd that way?

I do not plan on taking out my HDD ever or replacing it.

Thank you guys for the help. I just want to get my comp set up as best as I can.

Perfect, thank you very much for the help. I should have it installed and working tomorrow some time. I looked around and on my bios screen and have uefi enabled I think. So hopefully it goes on without any issues.

Just make sure you temporarily remove the other hard drive. It's not supposed to cause problems, but sometimes the installer puts important files on other drives.

After installation is complete you can connect it and wipe it.
