Solved Harddisk is formatted, can i reinstall windows 8- Needhelp

Few days back, i upgraded windows 7 to windows 8 with digital download from microsoft website and i loaded that downloaded file into DVD for safety purpose.
Due to mother board failure, i replaced new mother board and the corresponding technician totally formatted my HDD.
Now i want to install windows 8 again, can i use that DVD which i loaded digital download file.
Need your help

Hello Shiv, and welcome to Eight Forums.

If that was a Windows 8 ISO file that you burned to the DVD, then yes you will be able to boot from the DVD to do a clean install with it.

I don't know if that will work - you may have trouble if win8 doesn't sniff a qualifying os on the machine.

I don't know if Shawn will show you a way round that.

Yeah, for the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant, you must legally (by EULA) have a qualifying OS installed to run it in to get the ISO. Once you have the ISO, you can use the ISO how you like as long as you abide by the EULA.
