Two Windows 8 on Different Drives

I had a dual boot with Win7 & Win8. The Win 8 installation became unusable so I re-installed. It installed itself over
Win 7. Now when I boot up I have a choice between two Win 8 installations. I have the working one set as default but I still have to select from the two at boot. How do I get rid of the unwanted installation? I could install Win 7 over it but I no longer want a dual boot.

if you have two installed windows 8 I think you would want to get rid of one of them, once gone you shouldn't have a boot menu anymore asking you to choose between them.

If there is nothing else on the partition where the non wanted windows 8 install is, then probably the best way to get rid of it is just reformat that partition.

Make sure that you do indeed have two separate installs of windows 8 though before reformatting one, maybe you just have some kind of a corrupt boot menu thing going on.

You could boot and select to startup the Windows 8 you want to keep, then using OPTION ONE in the tutorial below delete the other Windows 8 (not the "current OS" one) you do not want in msconfig.
