Solved Extraterrestrial Glitch

Damn! I'm in quicksand on this one. I'm trying to install an Evaluation Copy of Win8 CP Build 8250 on hardware built before the birth of Christ. I have to install it with the Setup.exe from the Sources folder rather than the main Install Application Setup.exe at the root of the OS . Using Winzip, I continue to get Windows cannot determine the language to use for Setup. Error Code 0x80004005 . Never (ever) seen an error like this - sum totally impossible to eliminate. Don't tell me to use the main Setup.exe because I've only got 768 Mbs of RAM and the other Setup.exe is the workaround. Had it running for two weeks but went back to Win7 Ultimate. I'll become obsessed chasing an answer for this error. Maybe somebody's got the answer. I've got no quit and I'll chase my tail into submission. Goodday.

Why does this Goddamn error refer to a Language incompatibility? I've seen challenges come and go but I've really NEVER (ever) seen anything as pathetic as this one right here. This one has to do with Permissions and nothing else. I'll have to hope SubInAcl works on Win7 to rewrite the Registry Keys so that I can open files on this OS. That's beyond pathetic - that's hopeless. Running as Admin does NOTHING . Somehow, I knew this one will NOT field a single response. Not even from Brink. Goodday.

BTW - what's Winzip got to do with installing Win8??

Well ya need something to unzip the ISO and Install it, right ? I use WinZip. I ain't never seen anything quite like this Bobo. Got the OS from The Pirate Bay. But, it's unmodified yet has a problem somewhere in its Install.Wim folder. Is that what some peeps use to make Windows To Go ? It's an Image file and I'm gonna have to do a little bit of research on this one. I don't mount the image, I just copy the boy over to a Bootable USB stick. When ya get 0x80004005 for an error, it's time to go into the Registry. Ya gotta set back, scratch your head and wonder. Strangest thing I've seen in a long time. Goodday.

I am assuming you have lang.ini and locale.nls in the sources folder you are installing from?

Have a look in the lang.ini and see what it says.

It says : Available UI Languages en-US=3 and Fallback Languages en-US=en-us . This is a Permissions glitch and I need to default the Permissions in the Registry. Tried using SubInAcl but won't work with Win7 . Jesus! This one's un-real !

You got it from Pirate Bay? Get a free version from Microsoft.com and it ought to work.

Uhhh ...... Are you serious? Lemme guess - you're gonna tell me that the OS is a walking, talking Ebola Virus. When a new Evaluation Copy comes out, the previous Beta is slowly phased out by Microsoft. Hasn't been around for months. RTM trials are around but I can't use them - too long of story. Do you have something constructive to share with this audience?

Ah - winzip - did this so long ago I forgot - I used 7-Zip, and I do have the contents of 32-bit CP, which installed fine on my old Sempron 3000 machine. Also the .iso file dated 1st June. Not sure how that helps unless you have a pal coming to the Algarve shortly!!

Yes, Sir - thanx for feedback on an otherwise dead wavelength. I found that it was a corrupt download. Found an almost virginal 2.52 GB version from TPB and it went right into place, zippedy-doo-dah ! I was wondering if I mount an Image of the newest Win8
Pro RTM if it will be compatible with my Pentium 4 NO NX enabled status. Somebody told me that it will but I have my doubts. Learning how to mount that using ImageX and creating a pseudo Windows To Go will be like doing a Research paper back in college. However, I'm jonesed to see the mark of the full-boat Windows 8 or, at least as much of it as I can assemble. Time to study up ! Thanx again. Goodday.
