Windows 8 Boot issue

Hello, so I recently built myself a brand new pc, minus the hard drives I already had since they were relatively new. My mother board is a MSI FM2-A75MA-E35. On the motherboard box it does indicate that it is indeed Windows 8 Compatible. When I first put in the hard drive with windows 8 installed it booted up just fine and everything was peachy. However, I restarted to enable hyper-v and now it won't boot at all, it just stays at the windows 8 splash screen. The first thing you see when you attempt to boot into windows 8. I also get stuck at that screen even when I load from a usb flash drive (Containing my windows 8 installation). To make sure it wasn't my drive, I took it out and ran it from my other computer, I was able to re-install windows 8 and it ran just fine. Then I put it back in my new tower and same issue. I even tried re-installing windows 8 while I was booted into windows 7. Additional information : Windows 7 is installed on a 500gb hdd and windows 8 was installed on a 1TB HDD. Windows 7 boots just fine. Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I am still presented with this issue. I just tried switching out the Sata cables and tried different slots, same issue. The HDD itself works just fine, I can access it under My Computer.

Sounds like you moved a drive from a previous system where Win 8 was installed to this one, so do a clean install or at least a Repair Install.

That is the thing, I am unable to boot from any device if it has anything to do with windows 8. Windows 7 boot devices work just fine. It is just windows 8. Anyone have any insight?

Did you create the Windows 8 DVD? If so, how?

You might want to try creating a bootable flash drive to install from just to see if that makes a difference.

"I am unable to boot from any device if it has anything to do with windows 8" I tried booting from a USB key. The thumb drive is very much bootable.

I had similar - wasn't even able to boot win8wim's off the HD - they got stuck at the blue window thing - win7 wims booted fine.

Seem to recall I booted one of my win7 custom wims and recreated the boot critical files on the Active partition ( that was my win7 partition ) . Seemed ok after that.

In my case I hadn't enabled hyper v or anything else. It just appeared randomly.
