Windows 8 Install Problem: Intel Network connection?

I am trying to update my home computer from Windows 7 to Windows 8. I already purchased windows 8 for download but I encountered a problem when trying to download.

When running the install the program states I need to uninstall Intel(R) Pro Network Connection 12.1.11.0. However if I uninstall the driver I won't be able to access the internet any longer. Without the Internet I cannot finish the install for windows 8.

An additional note: I have made sure I have the latest updates for the driver.

Does anyone know of a way to fix or work around this problem?

I thought about possibly downloading the driver to a hard drive and then reinstalling after getting windows 8. However it would still not allow me to finish installing without access to the internet.

Thank you for your help in advanced. It seems other people may be having a similar problem but I haven't seen anyone with an answer yet.

I'm having the same problem and no one has provided an answer yet. Also, the Intel uninstaller would not uninstall the Intel files and their updater also would not update these files, saying that these files would not work on my computer. But they are there and I didn't put them there!

The whole thing is a catch-22, and I don't see a way around it. I don't want to do a clean install because I want to save my programs and personal files. If this can't be solved, I've wasted $40.
